We live in a suburb with relatively low car traffic on our street (less than 100 cars passing through an hour during the day time). Whenever I am working in the garage or let our kids play in the driveway, both wife and I freak out when our 6 year old go toward the front of the house. he could be playing on the front lawn (there's about 15 feet of yard space, side walk to the house) and we would yell at him to come inside. I see bunch of kids in the neighborhood (usually 8~11 yr olds) riding their bike and skateboard out in the street, but it makes my stomach turn to see my boy going out onto the street. It's not that I don't trust my son's capacity to watch out for cars, but I just don't trust drivers to always be aware. Any parents feel the same with their kids playing out in the street? If not, how do you manage this fear? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/30DdDf6
