Tips for 3 year old during "rest time" at school

Hello! My son is 3.5 years old and attends preschool. About half of the children in his class (they are 3 and 4) don't nap. I realize my son has dropped his nap a little early, but we've already chatted with his pediatrician about it and bc he is getting plenty of night time sleep, he said it was more than fine. Anyhow, the school requires the kids who don't nap to have 30 minutes of "rest time" on their cots but my son has had a difficult time keeping quiet for the entire 30 minutes. His teachers say he isn't being hyper active and screaming but usually needs a few reminders to use his whisper voice.Has anyone else encountered this with their 3 year old? And if so, how did you successfully work on it at home? I want to support the teachers and also know the quiet time is good for my son. It's hard though because by the time I pick him up from preschool, the rest time has passed by a few hours so I wonder if he's fully connecting our chats about the importance of rest time to the actual rest time period. Any tips? Thanks so much. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/36vEfS6
