Teaching my son about financial responsibility

My son (9) asked for money to buy some digital items in a game. I told him he'd need to do some chores to get the money. I then tried to explain about some basic finances and how a budget works. I decided the best way to articulate this was to show him episode 22 of season 2 from "The Cosby Show" called "Theo's Holiday". (I know all about Cosby but just speaking about the show itself) If anyone remembers this one it's when Theo says he's going to be rich by becoming a model and he'll have all the money he needs. So the family decides to give him a crash course in the "real world." It really is a GREAT episode with some fantastic writing. It's available on Amazon Prime. So after the episode I ask my son if he learned anything, "yeah that show confuses me, it wasn't funny." Lesson learned kid. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3oCBkgs
