Apartment Noise Complaints

We just moved into our new apartment with our 3 year old son and 7 month old. Within the first week we have already gotten 2 noise complaints from a young couple downstairs due to our son running and jumping around. One of them has anxiety and panic attacks that can be triggered from loud noises and also have an early sleep schedule. They were kind in asking us to try and keep the noise down understanding how excited our 3 year old is and us being busy unpacking but at the same time the noise is causing frequent panic attacks and stress and likely unlivable conditions for them.We have put down some carpet and trying to correct our sons behavior, introducing him to the people downstairs explaining what his actions are doing, showing him what quiet movement is like and frequent time outs when he jumping off the couch repeatedly. He is very fidgety and almost never able to stay still, even before the move. I am not sure if it is ADHD or covid and just being a 3 year old. When taken to the park for hours he still comes back home and is still basically jumping off the walls. He does well at the park, plays well and is respectful towards others. Just at home it is chaos with him pushing his boundaries. My wife has reacted quite poorly to the noise complaints with her own anxiety, depression and getting less sleep. She is constantly yelling at our son now over things that should be considered normal or at least deserving a calmer talk. It was a big deal to get our first place in this market but now she isnt feeling welcome. It feels like a no win situation. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3gbTVz0
