[Misc] Surprised by my teen

I have 3 kids- the oldest is 18. He’s in college (U.K.) and he’s just started working. I’ve never had any of the usual teenage problems with him, but he did have some issues in high school. He’s never been academic, he hated school, he’s bright but can be a slacker. He can also be a bit of an airhead. I was speaking to him about work and he likes it- he’s in hospitality and he’s very social and extroverted. I asked him how he plans to manage his money and he said he’d save 25-30%. “I’ve been looking into ISAs and they’re a good idea. I can save money and make money!” I was shocked because I half expected him to spend his wages on gaming and takeaways. He’s always been more of a grasshopper than an ant, so I was surprised that he’s gonna save for a deposit. There’s no rush for him to leave home. Maybe we did something right! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3veRlMB
