Over attached nephew

Hey guys, I am a little concerned about my 1-year-old nephew ( 1 year and 10 months old). Recently I have spent around 2 weeks living at my brother's place, and of course, I would be playing with my nephew and niece (3 years old) all the time. My nephew can only say a few words, but he mostly shows us what he wants through actions. The problem is that he is so attached to me that he won't let me go anywhere alone (even the bathroom), and he wants to be with me 24/7. Sometimes he'll start crying if his parents try to take him from me and I don't know how to feel about this. Me and him were never that close before, but him being so attached to me to the point where he cries when someone else tries to play with him is concerning me.Another thing is that he will grab my hand and drag me to places that he wants to go, but the minute I let go of his hand and go away from him, he throws himself on the floor and cries. I have tried to ignore this behaviour, but sometimes he'll bang his head on the floor, so I end up picking him up.At night his parents had asked me to put him to sleep in his own room, but around 1-3 am, he'll start crying and come to me. When he sleeps, he is very clingy to the point where he's literally holding my face and sleeping (I am not exaggerating). If I leave the bed or move him off me, he will wake up right away and starts crying until he can hold my face or hand. Don't get me wrong, I do love the attention and love, haha, but I don't know what to do about this behaviour. Is it concerning??? I know a little bit about the attachment theory, but I just thought I'd get some more perspectives on this. Thanks in advance :).Also, I should mention that if I'm not in the room and he's playing with someone else, then he's fine but the minute I walk in he comes to me crying and hides behind me no matter who he was playing with before :/ via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3wrbz7u
