My daughter just turned six and is in first grade. We had her tested for early admission in April of this year and, at the time, she was reading at a third grade level. She started reading a little when she was four and it just kind of ran away from there. However, I'm having trouble finding books that will challenge her reading while being appropriate for her age. She loves Zoey & Sassafras and Sophie Mouse, but I feel like those are too easy for her. On the other hand, I've tried some older books (Dory Fantasmagory, for example) and while it challenges her reading, they often either have more mature subject material that she loses interest in or encourages behavior that she hasn't had enough experience to know is wrong. (This was what happened when we got Dory Fantasmagory for her; she started mimicking all the obnoxious things Dory did constantly.)Are there kid's books written for young advanced readers? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3rM7zig
