Teen wants to read dangerous literature

I have two children, a 16 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. We have a family library of sorts with books that we've all collected for years, and we've always been big proponents of reading. Well under this quarantine, we are requiring both our children to read a minimum of two hours per day. We've offered all of our books, and that if we have nothing that interests them, we'll order books for them from amazon. My oldest child (16F) requested a list of pretty radical books that promote some dangerous ideologies and I told her that I don't think those are appropriate books for her to be reading. Well, a few weeks later, they arrive in the mail, and questioning her, she responded that whilst she understands we aren't comfortable buying those books for him, she decided to buy them herself. She's always been a good kid, she doesn't have many friends, but she gets very good grades and always seems happy.Looking at the books I decided to confiscate them and wait until my wife comes home and discuss it with her before giving them back. What would you do in my place? Just for context so far the following have arrived: "Revolt Against the Modern World" (Fascism) "Industrial Society And It's Future" (Unabomber manifesto) "The Conquest of Bread" (Communism)She said that she ordered more, but won't tell me what else she ordered. Based on the list she gave me earlier I'm still expecting "1984" and "Beyond Good And Evil" but her behavior makes me think that more books are on the way. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3g4Za1c
