My wife and I will be going on a trip and leaving daughter for the first time.

I am a stay-at-home dad, so I’m around my amazing 1 1/2 old daughter most of the time. I have been away a few times ( for a few hours or one night) but my wife was home with her. We will be going to Alaska in a few months. My wife and I are very excited, but every time we discuss the trip my wife cries. I get upset too thinking about the both of us leaving her. She will be in the care of my parents, so I’m not worried about her daily needs. I have anxiety that she will think that we abandoned her etc. I wanted to get other’s opinions on how you “give yourself permission” (for lack of a better term) to enjoy your life without your kid involved? We both struggle with even doing things for a few hours away from her. I usually have guilt about going to sporting event (pre-Lockdown) because I left my daughter. Any advice about working through feeling guilty or sad about leaving my kid would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2OOIfn6
