When I’m in Walmart with my kids (5 and 3)and they start screaming over a toy or candy I will park my cart and wait outside with them until they calm down (this is routine) but after an encounter where my little ones looked in a strangers eyes and screamed for help, prompting a confrontation in regards to my parenting has resulted in this becoming a regular event. Strangers yelling, grabbing and threatening me claiming i’m too harsh for leaving the store with them, having a time out or not giving into their demands. I have been attacked for not controlling my kids and have been scolded for not spanking or yelling. Last time I said no to candy at check out my 5 year old told me “your being a bad daddy and I’m going to get you in trouble” and began to tantrum for the candy while looking for someone who would interfere. These people think they are helping but it’s affecting my ability to control the situation. Am I being a bad parent? Is there something I can correct? Please help me reddit. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3kwMjXR
