Baby backtrack !

Ok so the first 7months have been pretty normal as far as crying and sleeping. I was able to rock him and lay him down and he would be knocked out . When we got to month 8 I could feed him turn on his Mobile and he would fall asleep his self. But here in month 9! He is so fussy when it’s time to go to sleep. As soon as I try to lay him down he screams and cries.. if I’m holding him he’s fine. The moment I get up hes fussing. Even during the day when he starts to get sleepy and I put him in his swing he’s fussing. The other night I laid him down and quickly walked away , he cried for a little but started to fall asleep . As soon as I walked back over just to peak to make sure he was ok( I always double check, especially since I walked off so fast) his eyes popped open and he was crying all over again I was in there for a whole hour!. My daughter said when I’m not in the room he’s fine and laughing , but as soon as he sees me he crying for me . It was all good a few weeks ago !. What do I do ?
