Hello parents of reddit. My partner (28F) and I (28M) are not parents but would love some advice from a group of you.To clarify, neither of us have wanted kids but have recently been wondering what our lives might look like if we did. We find that they would be expensive and change the house dynamics. Plus my partner has Cystic Fibrosis, which creates more of a risk with pregnancy. It is also more than likely that she would not be around for all of their lives, being generous she could live another 20-25 yearsThe past couple months we have been talking more and more about having kids. But we are very unsure about it. One of the reasons this has come up is because my partner will likely get a lung transplant in the next five years, potentially. It is not possible to have a child after having had a lung transplant. Some of the reasons why we might want to have children is that when my partner passes, I will have a couple pieces of her, kids that will take care of me when I am older, and also just to raise socially conscious humans out in the world to make it a better place. We understand that this is a decision we need to make on our own but really want to get some feedback from parents. We are just wondering if you have found it worthwhile to have kids? What are your pros and cons? We would love to hear from you. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/31qXOXV
