How do I get my 15 month old to reduce her milk/formula intake?

This babe is beyond perfect, but damn she is addicted to her HIPP forumula. She still sucks down 25-30 ounces per day at 15 months. But she also eats a good deal of solid food during the day, including chicken, bananas, peanut butter, bread, yogurt, veggies, eggs, avocado, peaches, kiwi, etc. No junk food, no juice at all. When she wakes up we immediately offer her solids to cut the hunger pangs a bit. From there, she typically has 4-5 ounces of milk. Another 4-5 immediately before her 11am nap. Another 4-5 in the early afternoon, and then another 4-5 around dinner. Last bottle is immediately before bed. She typically sleeps through the night, but if she happens to wake up at 2am and we can't calm her down, we'll offer her some milk to get her back to sleep. She had 15 month appt today. The doctor said she needs to drastically cut her intake to 15oz max per day. The doctor is not concerned and does not think that our daughter has an iron deficiency, is malnourished, or is underweight. She's in 99th percentile for both height (33 inches) and weight (28 pounds). The doctor's concern about milk is more about ensuring our daughter's development, hitting milestones, etc. The doctor also thinks consuming slightly fewer calories wouldn't hurt.In the past month, we have tried reducing her bottles to 4oz of milk instead of 5, but it just led to her waking up hungry in the middle of the night almost every night. When we try to withhold milk and insist on only solids instead, she will refuse to eat the solid food and will eventually go into nuclear meltdown mode until we eventually breakdown and give her milk. We're at a loss of what to do -- should we just let her outgrow the milk over time, or should we try to go cold turkey and stick to the 15oz/day come hell or high water (almost like sleep training - crying be damned)? Really appreciate any help. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3jrCQQL
