My boys, 8 and 6 are always so hyper after school!

What can I do?? They're driving me nuts. Do they just need more outdoor time? They ride a bus home and as soon as they get off, they are immediately in "pretend mode" in their own little world (pretending to be foxes or another creature they made up) and don't really pay any attention to me or what I'm saying. They used to tell me about their day somewhat, but now it's more like they have been caged animals all day and bursting with pretend play needs. They usually are like this when they are together even at home quite often. My 6 year old has always had feed back from his teachers of what a well behaved boy he is. My 8 year old has always struggled a bit with following directions and paying attention anyway. They aren't interested at all in playing in our backyard which isn't very large, but they always enjoy parks. They are still hyper when we get home from the park too!So far I have been reducing screen time (actually eliminated on weekdays now!) and tried to make sure they are eating enough healthy food. They drink water or watered down apple juice. They have tons of crafting stuff to do as well...this will busy them but they still talk SO loud and constantly pretend to be foxes or other creatures. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2MpWT6z
