I have a very happy two and a half year old daughter. She's with me all of the time because I'm a stay at home mom. Recently a girl from the neighborhood started hanging out with my child. I was reluctant to let her inside my house to play but I asked her much older sisters and they said that's ok. This thing is considered normal in my country. We live in suburbs. The thing is. I have known that she comes from a poor family but the extent of it made me feel sad and guilty. Today she told me that her mom advised her to stay in my house until she eats and the truth is, whenever my daughter eats, this child is always super hungry. Also, she has told me that they don't have heating because they ran out of firewood. Not to mention that she's dirty and she's been wearing the same clothes for a week now. I don't mind giving her food but today happened something that I honestly kinda expected, she asked for money because her mom told her to borrow some. Now, I think that her older sister made her do this but whoever did, It's highly inappropriate. The thing is, I don't feel good letting her again in my home, but how can I refuse If I know that she's going to end up being hungry. This is a cruel world.
