I have a 7 year old and he will randomly wake up freaking out because "he can't open his eye and light hurts it". It has only happened 3 times in 7 years, always when my daughter is here (different mom's she doesn't live with us full time). We took him to the doctor the first time and she didn't find anything wrong and it goes away with time but he did it again last night and when my wife and I talked to him about what we did last time he had no memory of the first 2 experiences.
