Co-parenting discipline

Parents, I could use some advice. I have two boys, soon to be 9yo & 7yo in 2 days & 9 days, respectively. Their mother and I split when our youngest was only a few months old. Up until about a year ago, we haven’t exactly gotten along. I know there are always differences in opinion of who’s at fault during arguments, but she has always been significantly worse towards me in said arguments. Granted, I’ve had my fair share of moments due to anger and frustration but is nothing compared to hers. We weren’t married so when we split, she was legally granted full custody. Although I’m on the birth certificate & pay child support, sheriffs deputies told me that I have no parental rights until I file a petition thru the courts. Long story short, I have yet to get my rights. So she can technically let me get our kids and change her mind two hours later, and I can’t do anything about it. Somehow we’ve been getting along fairly well recently which is great. She’s told me frequently that they’re acting up lately when she has them but none of her discipline seems to work. They aren’t that bad with me. So does anyone have advice as to how we can discipline together in a coparent fashion? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3xRRhoa
