Dealing with nephews' bad influence

Looking for advice on how to deal with my nephews' (5 & 8 yrs old) poor behavior when they are around my son (5) and daughter (8). They are the same ages and live in the same town. They are basically BFFs, which is great. Except for when the nephews' behaviors and attitudes rub off on my kids.Biggest issue is the 5 yo's tantrums where he will become physically violent. So far, my husband and I have decided that we simply won't allow our son to play at their house, where they are largely unsupervised. At our house, this kid is usually fairly well behaved and we are able to set firm boundaries about what is and is not ok at our house. But there have been times where these two play at their grandparents' house, and nephew has an outburst. My son has recently had a couple of outbursts that are very unusual for him and seem "nephew-inspired" as far as the physicality. I do not want this happening regularly! The 8 yr old just overall has a bad attitude, is very mouthy, talks back, etc. And when my daughter is around him, she starts doing the same things. We are quick to course-correct and have frank conversations about acceptable behavior, but I don't know what more we can doHow do you deal with close family members' kids when they are a regular part of your lives? The parenting in the nephews' household is very different from how we do things, and I cannot control or fix how those kids are parented. But I feel like my family is also suffering the consequences of the way these kids are parented. Is there anything I can do? Or does anyone have similar stories/experiences to share?Edit to add: Because I'm sure someone will ask, we have not talked to the nephews' parents about dealing with our kids as a result of their kids' behavior. The parents are aware of their kids behaviors and I believe they are doing the best they can with the tools they have. We just have not yet had a conversation about how it is affecting our kids. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3xNWcXt
