My daughter is scared of everything it seems. Lately, it's carbon monoxide or someone breaking in. Unfortunately, this all started because I had NPR on in the car and the topic was greenhouse gas emissions. We get to talking and somehow I'm explaining carbon monoxide and how dangerous it can be, but not to worry because we have an alarm. Most people do, no biggie. Ever since then, she has not dropped this thing. She is afraid to go to sleep. She will check the alarm multiple times. She wakes up in the middle of the night, hence the reason I am awake right now at 3 am. She thought she smelled something. We have tried giving her tools to combat this such as counting numbers, praying, reading. We have explained that the likelihood of a break in or gas leak is extremely low.I am at a breaking point here and need some help getting through to her. Any tips, advice, battle stories? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2VR3yMc
