How to stop giving bottled breast milk during the night? OK to start mixing water in?

Trying to get the baby to no longer drink bottled milk during the night wakeups. The nurses told me the baby (8mo) can perfectly handle not feeding during the night and one of the alternatives would be to stop cold turkey entirely. The baby would get enough nutrition during the day from solids plus breast milk.I read several things about not mixing water in, but those seemed to be about the situation when the baby gets their primary nutrition from the breast milk, which is not the case here. Instead this would be in addition to the daily feedings. Obviously the kid cannot handle huge amounts of water or any liquid but I don`t think the amounts would be higher than they already have been with breast milk during the night. To this point it is always the bottle when she wakes up during the night. I read from someone`s experience that she started mixing water in and eventually the kid did not want it anymore. That sounds good to me instead of going cold turkey.Anyone done this? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3jURBwI
