So, we live in a very red state and our daycare isn’t the best. Lately my 4 year old started calling things “gay gay.” We are in a store and he will point to some clothes and proclaim they are gay. He’s also getting into calling certain colors or things for girls or for boys only- something we’ve tried hard to avoid. He calls his male classmate a girl as a negative thing. He denies that anyone at the school talks this way, but there’s absolutely no other interactions or influences and we don’t talk this way.I would like to find books or ways to explain to him in an age appropriate way what gay means, that there is nothing wrong with being gay and that there is nothing wrong with being a girl or boy.Another factor in all of this is that my son was touched inappropriately by a male teacher half a year ago. This teacher is now in jail and my son is in counseling. My husband and I have also had counseling about it, and it is still a tough subject for us.Any help is appreciated. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3qd1Dyi
