Well for the past 5 months we've been doing our thing at home. My daughter will be 9 years old next month and a few of my close friends have decided to disregard the pandemic and throw birthday parties for their children similar in age as my daughter. I've known these friends for over a decade but for obvious reasons we haven't hung out with them in some time. One of my good friends has invited me and my daughter to a birthday party in 2 weeks and I asked her how many people will be there. She says only close family and friends so I am not sure the exact #. She said most of the activities will be outside and people will be using sanitizer and masks. However it will be over 100 at degrees for a few weeks here & I doubt everyone will keep masks on for a long period of time sitting in heat like that.My daughter only goes to my in laws house because I work & they take care of her & my younger 2 babies, so they are the only other people she's been having contact with. I would love for her to have fun at a birthday party & interact with other kids but covid is still rampant in my state & I'm so conflicted here. If I decline the invitation I'm sure my friend will be disappointed but I know my daughter would love the mini play date.I'm not sure what to do and would love some input on how other parents are handling situations like this. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/342etUE
