Missing Marathon Practice

FYI marathon here means a 1.3km run, and my daughter is year 6, final year of elementary school. She will graduate and leave elementary school next March. We have had many problems at school, I had hoped she’d remember elementary school as a fun place but she’s been bullied a lot for being mixed race.We have had numerous meetings with school about bullying and found their response lacking. They suggest that my daughter is too sensitive as she “IS” mixed race. They didn’t removed or sanction the bully, who I might add had bullied “pure blood” kids too.My daughter isn’t fat, but she is taller and bigger than her peers, she is also more developed in terms of puberty and bust development. She hates running primarily because her boobs/butt/thighs wobble and she gets teased by her classmates, especially boys. She complained and got mocked by her class teacher and PE teacher for “having no stamina” rather than encouraging her and dealing with the boys calling her “wobbly tits” etc etc.She is close to refusing to go to school all together and given she’s so close to graduating I decided to call time and allow her to skip marathon practice and the event.I gave her my business card and wrote on the permission slip “I do not agree to my daughter taking part in marathon practice or the main event due to her being mocked by teachers and classmates”.My wife is angry because she says she should do it, I think more long term.I told her she may get more school work, if she does she has to do it without question.I told her to write down anything the teachers say. And I’ll deal with it.In the future I want my daughter to know that I will take seriously anything she brings to the table to discuss, I hear her and although there may have been other ways to deal with it I am on her side.Running at school may not be earth shatteringly important but RIGHT NOW it is to her.I am ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งand my daughter is a mix of ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งand ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ตWe live in ๐ŸŽŒ via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/37xw7zZ
