Hubby and I were driving around town today. When we were stopped at a light we watched this kid, about 13 completely oblivious to the world around him stop pick up a rock and try to balance it on his shoe. And I was like OMG! This is it! This is why it’s easier to have friends that are parents! I also have a 13 yr old boy so watching the kid I was all yup, that basically sums up the ridiculousness of a kid that age.The thing is, only other parents get the ridiculousness of kids. You can laugh at stories and be excited when a parent is proud of their kid when you don’t have kids of your own etc. but it’s the actual full comprehension of all the weird little things kids do, the annoying things, the sweet things all the extras. It’s not that we stop loving our childless friends, it’s just different. There’s nothing quite like sitting in a room of other parents and talking about your kids to make you feel not so alone in the parenting journey. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3xLy7Rd
