My daughter had a ballet recital today....

My daughter (4) loved ballet and has been doing it for a year. Today she had a recital (her first) and when it was her class turn to perform she cried during the entire performance....She cried as soon as the lights came on and was the only child crying ..... I feel awful for putting her through that. I hope she does not get scarred by this and now she no longer likes ballet and decided to quit going to classes.What could I have done to prevent this?
