Hello, first time posting here, I hope this is ok...So, I am a first time mom and feeling quite lost at the moment. Me and DH suspect our 2 month DS might be gifted. It all started at around his eight weeks. As we talked to him normally we found that he would seem to repeat a few words after us, such as good morning(we are in Japan and DH is Japanese, so we mainly communicate with DS in Japanese). We however took this with a grain of salt and just thought it was normal baby talk that sounded like the word. However as the days passed(he is almost eleven weeks), he would repeat more words with a more clear pronunciation, repeating even his own name (and it became his favorite word, so he is almost like a pokemon, repeating his name all the time). He also seems to repeat the words mimicking the melody of how we spoke it.I am still quite surprised by his skill, and even though I know some babies can talk earlier than others, two months seems just too early and I can’t find any information regarding speech this early in infancy. Regarding his gross motor skills he was also able to roll from back to tummy at 9 weeks and does it whenever he finds convenient(whenever it is inconvenient to me lol) and most times can roll back as well. Fine motor skills wise, he plays this game where he holds his milk bottle(but I am the one really supporting it’s weight) and he will pull it away from his mouth when he wants a break and then push it back when he wants to keep drinking. He does this constantly unless sleepy. He also seems to seek constant stimulation and gets bored easily with activities age appropriate like play mat, etc, so his mood can turn sour quite fast if we do not attend his demands. With him being my first child, I am not completely sure if this is just normal behavior or if he is actually a bit advanced for his age... Any parents of gifted children out there to shed a light?During infancy what where the challenges you faced? And what possible solutions you found out?The only reason I am asking is because my son seems to have sleep problems on and off and sometimes I feel lost on how to keep him happy and entertained. I just want him to be well rested and healthy, and feel prepared for any possible challenges, as already being a multicultural family we face enough challenges on how to raise our baby.I will be grateful for any information that can be shared as well as advice.Thank you 🙏 via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3gIPfzJ
