I’ve noticed that my niece sometimes gets curious about her private parts “tickling” and sometimes straddles my knee or me when I’m lying face up on the ground watching tv or in a chair. Not sure if it’s normal to feel this way but it makes me super uncomfortable especially since I’m a man. I’ve had some traumatic experiences as a kid and situations like this make me hyper aware of how this could be bad for her and also how it’s perceived. I don’t want to bring it up to my brother and sister in law and I love my niece to death so I don’t want to make a big deal out of it, but I don’t want her to normalize this behavior around me. Any advice on how to approach this situation? I’ve usually just made an excuse to get up or I’ve repositioned her as soon as she’s jumped on. She’s still very young (3.5) so I I’ve also just pretended my bones are brittle but I don’t mind if she sits on one of my legs with both legs over the side while she’s still this small! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/36HDyVj
