5yo manipulated his teacher and exposed physical security flaws to walk home alone.

Like the title said my new kindergartner walked home alone and when he learned I was not home walked back to his elementary school. I got the call around 3pm from his principle that their had been an incident. In that he was allowed to leave the school unsupervised. To the schools credit they were swift to acknowledge a mistake was made. However I do not think they them selves fully understand what he has done. Fist the school has a multi layered physical security and safe guards in place.Lvl1 - teacher - communication to the teacher is given how he will be dismissed and is confirmed via system wide messaging application.Lvl2 - staff escorts student groups to assigned dismissal areas, confirms with teacher and student and escorts them from one secure area to another.Lvl3 - teacher escorts kids from secure area in to and across the active parking lot to awaiting walking parents, car riders or buss riders. My son manipulated his teacher lvl1 in to believing he was a walker even though she confirmed with me he was after school program today and stated that my son even told her he was in after care today. This is a woman with 20+ years of teaching experience 14 of which is teaching kindergarten.Lvl2 passed him in to lvl3Lvl3 walked him to the parking lot and my son pointed to a male stranger said “that’s my dad” and thus started his adventure to walk home by his self. When he openly told me what he did I asked how? His response “well I decided I did not want to stay after school. I had noticed some holes came up with a plan and implemented it to see how far I would get and behold I got all the way home only to discover you were not home and then decided to walk back to my school since I knew they were open and would take me in” at first I did not believe him but then I remembered one of my neighbors had a security camera so I stop by and talk to them and sure enough on her security camera is my five-year-old son walking home alone on our street. This was confirmed by another family who asked me why I was allowing him to walk home alone from school at such a young age.I myself fall into the INTJ personality column. I have a question whether or not my son falls into the category as well after today’s a little demonstration I have firmly decided he is most definitely an INTJ mastermind. We’ve already had a family talk about safety and how it is inappropriate for someone at his age to be doing things like walking home alone. He has since lost privileges of even walking to school with an adult for two weeks. But I have to say while I’m disappointed at his manipulation and lying to his teachers. But as one INTJ to another I’m so proud that my five-year-old was able to find, exploit, security holes that grown adults were not able to see. As an IT security professional this could lead to a promising career.I would like to know what other parents think about this specifically other parents of INTJ kids. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3yTkO1z
