Has your uncircumcised toddler ever retracted foreskin?

Cause my 2.5 year old did a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about it. I didn't see him do it, he did it to himself in the tub sometime approximately 5-10 minutes before I pulled him out. My jaw dropped, it was so red and purple looking. The foreskin was red and the head of the penis (glans) looked very purple. I said, "What happened to your penis?" and he looked down pretty nonplussed and replied, "It's red." Later he said it hurt. I did take him to the doctor later but by then it looked totally normal. The doctor did gently retract again just to make sure it looked okay. I'm not sure why I'm writing this except, I'm so scared and paranoid that he has been permanently injured. I keep questioning and doubting whether I should have taken him in to the doctors, whether I shouldn't have allowed the doctor to retract again. Maybe it would've been better to let it be? But, then he kept peeing excessively and we weren't sure if he had a UTI and the excessive peeing was connected to retracting the foreskin? (No UTI from urinalysis, BTW). My son told me the next day, "It feels better now" when I asked him how his penis felt. The doctor told me not to worry about it and follow my kid's lead. Is this normal for toddlers? I thought they couldn't retract till they were much older? Sorry, written by paranoid and anxiety prone first time mom. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3jGyPJi
