My son (3.5) has been having a meltdown every day for the last week. He was diagnosed with autism last month and I’ve learned some ways to calm him down that work really well. He’s got a speech delay, but can communicate by pointing or using one word queues. But he needs everything to be just so. One night it’s because he can’t stack his blocks on top of a flash card a certain way, another is because he wants his juice cup filled to the brim, another is because because he can’t go outside after dark. Usually, it’s right after my husband goes to sleep. (He works nights and goes to bed long before my son does.)I don’t have much other issue with him during the day. He’s content, happy, and just wants to play. He follows his morning and night routines like clockwork… I’m just not sure what to do. It’s starting to get mildly frustrating. I know it’s not his fault, but I’m at a bit of a loss. Any advice? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3fW6I7W
