My daughters "best friend" pretty much told her they are no longer friends the last week of school. My daughter played the situation really poorly and not a soul that she used to talk to regularly called her the entire summer. But she only talked to these girls, never hung out socially because of covid. But these girls pranked her twice this summer and really messed with her head.She's hung out with one girl this summer. Only because the mom and myself seem to be forcing the relationship.About 3 years ago we moved to this town, because we loved another local town (20 minutes away), but this town had much better schools. We spent every summer in that other town while she was growing up and we are very familiar with it.But current town is very wealthy and the people aren't like us at all. The kids are about their stuff. My husband and I have busted our asses since I'm 12 and him 14 working, and we do very well for ourselves, but we don't have that type of money or would be as frivolous as a lot of my daughters classmates.The other town is our people. The families are more like us, the kids are more like our daughter.But do we leave a great school with a pretty smart kid (honors classes in a top rated school) to go to an below average school in a town we all would like more. We cannot afford any non denominational private schools.Also our daughter already knows 2 kids that would be in her grade from hanging out this summer. That is 1 more friend than what she has.We discussed with her if she was unhappy in 6 months we could move.But a multi family just came on the market in the area of town we wanted, which is what we have been waiting months for. We cannot comfortably afford a single in this area of town. We don't mind being landlords. Do we move again?
