How to respond when your kid complains of her friend acting like a “leader”

My daughter is 7 and she has a friend who often is the ‘leader’ of their group. Everyone does what this friend wants. My daughter tends to get upset about it. Others have no problem with this girl’s decision making. I tell my daughter to not force herself to do something she doesn’t want to, but also that sometimes compromise is okay if others want to do it too. I ask her to be polite but she gets mad because she can’t regulate her emotions (she’s 7 so still learning).She and I both lack social skills.
