Hello everyone. I am the dad of a 2 year old girl, and I need some advice. My daughter’s grandparents (maternal) live outside US, and her grandpa visited her for 2 months. This was the first time she met him, except at her birth and the first few months of her life. She has been doing video call with him intermittently as we have had her stay in touch somewhat. However after her physically visited us, and left, she misses him a lot. She became attached to him, and asks about him multiple times a day, everyday. We do make her do video call, so that she understands that he had not just ‘disappeared’. We also explain to her that he went back to his home, and that we will visit him for Christmas (we will, have plans and bought tickets). However she is 2, and I’m unsure how much she understands all of this, and how much she understands the concept of time (that we will see him in a month or so). What can we do to make it easier for her? How should we deal with this specific situation? I would love to have your input parents! Thank you. P.S. She looks happy generally and has not lost interest in her activities. It just seems like she misses him, and is maybe confused as to where he could have gone. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3BNGUmz
