My 7yo daughter started elementary school this Fall and like most everyone else didn’t really know anyone. She quickly found a best friend she’s grown close to over these last few months. We found out weeks ago they were moving 8 hours away and today is the day. You dread days like these as a parent and it’s just as bad as you imagined it’d be. It was a perfect situation. They quickly became best friends, lived within walking distance, my wife was getting close to the other mom, etc. Just really sucks all around. They’re military and I guess their time here was up and it’s onto the next stop. I feel bad for the other kids too because this sounds like it’s taken a toll and now they start a new school in the middle of the year. But, that’s family life in the military I guess.I know in the grand scheme of things it’ll work out and everyone will survive. My daughter has other friends and she can still talk and see this friend through FaceTime and video games online. Just hate to see little kids sad. They hung out all weekend I don’t think it finally hit them til going to bed tonight no more hanging out like that anymore. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3orw42n
