I recently had a conversation with a stranger on my podcast, Can You Tell Me A Story. He was an ex-professional poker player. Towards the end of the episode, I asked him this question: "If your kids wanted to become poker players, what would you say?"Here's his answer:"Well, good luck.""You'll support it?""100%. I don't care what my kids do, as long as they're happy. My ego is not driven on that they become a CEO, or a graduate from an amazing college. That's my ego, I don't care. If they wanna be a professional poker player, if they wanna be a garbage man, whatever, are you happy? Awesome. I've done my job as a parent.... If they're happy, knock yourself out. Are you a good person, not doing bad things? My ego is driven by what I do for my wife and family, not on where you go to school or what you do for a living etc."We need more Mikes in this world. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3gQyJw3
