Makes no sense to me.

It's probably just me, but disciplining your kids social life over a simple mistake makes absolutely no sense.Story time: I went to hang out with my friends for the first time in months (yes, we were careful and followed safety guidelines for covid). It was towards the end of us hanging out, and we were out of ideas of what to do, so we planned on each going home. I check my phone and notice 4 missed calls and 2 texts. I knew my mom was mad. She wanted me home for dinner a few minutes prior. I begin texting her with my explanation of why I didn't respond. (My notifications were off without me realizing and we were being lectured by a guy who thought we broke something when in reality we were fixing it. It was a swing which had a loose screw that fell out when swinging causing the seat to drop) Anyway... She then put out her final message without even reading what I had to say. Her message being "We're eating dinner without you, and don't expect to hang out with your friends anytime soon". Keep in mind that this is the FIRST time this is happened. Let alone me barely having a social life before a few months ago. This whole removal of my social life seems like complete overkill over a minor mistake that can and will be changed next time I go out. She knows my friends and know they are good people, but still. This just makes absolutely no sense to me. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/30vVq2R
