My 9yo practically inhales meals and treats , I think it’s unhealthy but am not sure

As stated, my 9 yo daughter eats most meals incredibly fast. She often finishes in minutes well before the rest of the family. With treats it’s even faster, so if she gets fruit snacks or a candy, she puts the entire amount in her mouth at once, instead of taking bites or eating one at a time. I often try and stop her when she does this and explain that she needs to slow down to help with digestion and feeling full. My husband agrees that she should slow down on her meals but thinks it’s totally normal kid behavior to eat treats like this? I’m worried that she’s developing bad habits or that she’s doing it compulsively or something since she barely seems to enjoy the food. She eats three balanced meals a day plus snacks and we’re pretty relaxed about her deciding when she’s hungry or full. Like we’re not restrictive but do have set meal times. Also, she has an identical twin sister who does not do this so I actually have someone to compare her eating habits to (not that I ever vocalize this to them, or make her feel like her sister is eating at a better pace etc.). But her twin does not shove food in like this and eats treats at a normal pace. Both girls are a healthy weight so I’m not worried about that aspect.Anyways, I’m concerned that I’m making a bigger deal out of this than is necessary and wonder if I should just stop worrying about it? Or does this make a big difference in terms of having a healthy relationship to food, and I should try and actively help her slow down? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2MwMXrE
